Kitty went to Falmouth College of Art and then onto to do Fine Art Painting at Bath with a First Class Degree. She won the Reveal Emerging Artist Award in 2009 and was selected for the SAW Abundance Commission 2013. She lives in Cornwall. Painted shapes are altered, covered, carefully revealed and reworked until a final resolution is reached, with chisels, whole areas can be obliterated, and the plywood itself offers hidden layers. Often forms emerge from the grain which influence the final outcome. Walking and collecting are very important parts of her practice as an artist. Whether sketched, painted or carved the motifs you'll find in her work are filtered from a constant documentation of everyday small details, found images, and curious objects which are frequently collected and arranged on any available surface in her home and studio. She is in collections throughout the UK and Europe.
