Jane Brayne

Jane was series illustrator on the BBC Television's Meet the Ancestors. She collaborated with archaeologists to interpret ancient places and people. Her work has been published by English Heritage, the National Trust, the British Museum and the BBC, amongst others, and can be seen in museums throughout the UK, including the British Museum. Her paintings embody a strong connection to the magic of landscapes and objects shaped by millennia of human use.  Alongside painting Jane collaborates with archaeologists to illustrate places and people of the past, she was series artist on Meet the Ancestors, BBC 2. Her work is published widely and can be seen in many museums including the British Museum. Jane’s paintings in oils, watercolour and gouache touch on hte significance of the everyday and often embody the magic of landscapes, objects and natural forms with which we have ancient connections.
