Maria Floyd

Maria is a landscape painter, working predominantly in Cornwall and drawing inspiration from the dramatic coastline. She studied at Goldsmiths' College, London and graduated with a BA Hons in Fine Art and History of Art. She is more often found working outside making a direct and expressive response to the landscape, letting nature and the elements play their part in the work and allowing wind and rain to make their mark. Studio pieces are an extension of these outside studies and maintain the energy and mood of the coastline or landscape. Expression and the power of nature are at the heart of her paintings and a deep love of the Cornish coast and landscape. She was shortlisted in the seascape category for the Wildlife Artist of the Year 2016 and exhibited in the Mall Galleries. As a result of that exhibition, she is now a supporting artist of the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation and is featured on their website.
