Paul did an apprenticeship in bookbinding and print finishing, however struggling with factory life he moved to Somerset. Being surrounded by so much interesting timber led him to carve and turn, combining shapes inspired by the natural world such as insect eggs, seeds, seed pods, fungi and the quest for the perfect curve. He uses locally grown timber to create unique vases, hollow forms and bowls embellished with carved ribs, curves and swirls to complement the woods natural figuring.
