Philip has been painting and drawing for most of his life, and started potting in 2019 and in the confinement of Covid the following year. He did a number of courses on wheel throwing, but also likes both slab and coil . He has been influenced by Ken Matsuzaki and Akira Satake with whom he did an online course, and the whole Japanese pottery tradition. Glazes he uses include the very fluid Chun glazes . He has a studio in Somerset and another in Majorca.
