Susannah was given her first camera at the age of eleven and started photographing anything and everything. She spent many stolen hours in the school dark room discovering the alchemy of printing. Much of her work has the aim of taking the viewer beyond traditional photographic boundaries, stretching the limitations of a photographic past and present through a leap of imagination.
Based around memory and displacement, presented through dreamlike landscapes and places and drawing together colliding worlds. Diverse photographic elements, shapes, textures and colors are combined in a painterly manner to create works of many intricate layers, that offer a glimpse into interwoven worlds that are at the same time familiar and fantastical.
