Most of Kate’s work revolves around design, which she expresses through various decorative art forms. Her work involves sculpting with wire, screen printing and painting. Her designs grow mostly from observing the structures and beauty in the plants and trees in our gardens and countryside. The designs and images transfer easily throughout her different disciplines.
Working with wire has transformed her designs into 3D structures. Using varying gauges of black iron wire she creates striking forms, some intricate and some more simple. She builds designs that replicate plants, foliage and trees, bringing them from our gardens and external surroundings into our homes and interiors.
Mainly self-taught, Kate has been designing and creating in her studio in Timsbury, near Bath, for over fifteen years.
