Rosie Musgrave

Rosie studied sculpture at Sir John Cass and City & Guilds Art Schools.

Having left London to raise a family, work a small-holding and then a therapeutic practice, she returned to her love of stone and has been exhibiting her work for over 20 years.

In her sculptures, she seeks to explore the power of simple form and reveal the stillness, sensuality and presence of stone.  She is constantly challenged by those many conundrums that emerge during the process of carving this ancient and enduring material.  To break into stone is to unveil its geological secrets that have taken millions of years to form:  striations of colour, fossils, even pockets of gas, trapped within the substance of time.

Some of Rosie’s sculptures can be found in the public arena, but most find their place in gardens and domestic spaces.  She is a member of the Royal Society of Sculptors and has recently moved to Bristol.
