Stephen Clutterbuck (1932 – 2021) lived and worked in Cornwall, South West England. His intense interest in prehistoric and primitive art together with his professional anatomical training can be seen influencing the ideas and form in his sculpture. In the 60’s and 70’s he studied wood carving under Dennis Mitchell and ceramic sculpture with Barbara Hill. He was strongly influenced by Henry Moore and Barbara Hepworth as well as primitive African art and the rich Cornish artistic community in St Ives. Elected a full member of the Penwith Society of Arts, St Ives in 1999, Stephen developed strong links with the Penwith and other galleries in St Ives and Cornwall. His sculptures are in private collections internationally and appeal to a wide range of collectors. Initially working in resin, selected works have more recently been cast in bronze to stunning effect. Stephen Clutterbuck
