Camilla Frederick

She studied fine art in Florence as a student and then worked in London as a photographer's agent in advertising. Today, Camilla lives in Somerset. A self-taught artist she paints in oils. Portraits are her favoured subject matter and often conveying an edgy, political message. Homelessness and recently a series of paintings of refugees have been challenges that fuel her to paint. Rather than painting pretty pictures she attempts to convey emotional messages which she hopes will come through in her work.

Many trips to Burma, where her son lives, have given her the opportunity to photograph the monks.
