Brigid’s love of etching started with a Damascene moment on coming face-to-face with an uncle’s Rembrandt etching halfway up his staircase. Since then she has gloried in the medium, fascinated by the whole process and the many different possibilities of line, tone, ink and the biting of the metal. She also teaches etching in her studio in Charlton Musgrove. Her own collection includes work by Norman Ackroyd, Andrew and Peter Freeth, and friends Bronwen Bradshaw and William Vaughan. She also works in oil paint, pastel, ink and charcoal, and particularly enjoys painting portraits.”Brigid Moreton
