Emily Matcham is a Somerset based artist painting mainly in oils. Her paintings are always created ‘en plein air’ in an attempt to capture the subtleties of the landscape changing day by day throughout the year.
Emily is interested in trying to record a memory of a particular place, long after it has been left. She grew up in Somerset and is constantly inspired by the surrounding countryside and loves to go off in search of new painting spots locally, as well as in Herefordshire and along the Jurassic coast.
Emily has a degree in Illustration from Falmouth University.
