Gigi Sudbury

Gigi learnt to paint by taking her camera and sketch books to the galleries and museums of Paris, London, Florence and Sienna. She paints the world around her, the magic of the everyday and expands a moment seen or dreamed in her daily life into a distilled portrait  of animals, people, places and landscape. The paintings invite you to come in and explore her world and by doing so to re-examine the world around you. She has had many Group and Shows in London, at the Barbican, Leighton House Museum and the South Bank Picture Show and won the Alternative Turner Prize in 2002.
